Anita is a rising junior at Huron High School. In addition to having taken seven AP exams, she participates in a lot of extracurricular clubs, like Science Bowl, Science Olympiad, and Ethics Bowl. She was a 2022 Semifinalist for the U.S.A. Biology Olympiad, and achieved Honors in the 2022 U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad. She is also the recipient of the 2021 and 2022 Maryam Mirzakhani awards for being a top five female scorer in the state of Michigan on the AMC 10. She also has been playing the piano for 10 years and dancing for 7 years. Anita loves writing, and is the News Editor for Huron's award-winning publication, the Huron Emery.
Akshar is a sophomore at Huron High School who is working to make a difference in the world's climate crisis. His skills are physics and earth science, and he competes in tournaments like F=ma, Physics Bowl, US Earth Science Olympiad (USESO), and Science Olympiad. He placed top 15 in USESO and made it to the national level camp twice. He has taken the majority of his AP STEM exams over his two years at Huron. In school, he is the President of the Physics Club and leads the Ocean Bowl Club. He enjoys teaching to pass on the skills he's developed over the years. When he isn't studying he likes watching youtube and playing tennis and basketball with his friends.
Anirudh is a sophomore at Huron High School passionate about advancing technology and mathematics. He placed State First in the American Computer Science League Competition and received awards for his research work in cybersecurity. As a lifelong math-enthusiast, Anirudh has been part of the Ann Arbor Math Olympiad Committee, and now volunteers as a student-teacher for middle-schoolers. In school, Anirudh is an AP Scholar Award recipient, President of the Cybersecurity Club, and serves on the Board for Business Professionals of America (BPA). He regularly participates in cybersecurity challenges and won State and National BPA Conferences for economics research and cybersecurity. Anirudh’s hobbies include music and sports— you can find him playing sonatas on classical guitar while rooting for the Detroit Lions to win the Superbowl (Someday)
Vanya is a rising junior at Huron High School and is passionate about robotic exploration of the solar system. She has been an astronomy enthusiast since the age of five and regularly uses her telescope for stargazing. She is most interested in high-energy astrophysics and physical cosmology. Vanya’s also passionate about teaching and coaches middle school students. She is passionate about encouraging STEM among young girls and is the Vice President of the Women in Science & Engineering club. In addition to coaching and participating in numerous science competitions, Vanya is the Personal Relations chair of the 2021 & 2022 state champion Huron Mock Trial team, and is proud to be part of the first Huron team to ever attend Nationals since the club’s founding. She is looking forward to her research internship on AI in robotic applications this summer.
Outside of school, Vanya volunteers to collect water samples and test creek health parameters in the Huron River watershed. She enjoys reading, making jewelry, drawing mehndi, and exploring Ann Arbor in her free time.
Madhav is a rising Junior at Huron High school and is passionate about Math and Computer Science. After completing AP Calculus in his freshman year, he further pursued his interest in Mathematics by taking College-level classes in Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra. Physics, Chemistry, and Statistics are also subjects that he is quite familiar with, having taken the corresponding AP classes during his freshman and sophomore years. He is also skilled in Computer science as he was on the American Computer Science League Club team which won 2nd place nationally in 2022. Additionally, he has participated in many competitions, such as Physics Bowl and Science Bowl, for which his team won the Regional Competition. and qualified for the National Competition in 2022, in which they placed in the top 32 teams. In addition, he is a member of NHS at school and the Ann Arbor Math Olympiad Club. As a part of A2Aspire, he hopes to help other kids share his love for learning Math and Science.
In his spare time, he enjoys watching Netflix, reading suspenseful books, and talking to his friends.
